Opus One

Opus One

Opus One is a joint venture marrying French Bordeaux tradition with the rich terroir of Napa Valley. The wineries of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi tend Opus One's three meticulously hedged vineyards in the Napa Valley. Together they produce one of the finest wines in the world. Opus One is distributed by Baron Philippe de Rothschild.

Opus One

Grapes are hand sorted, and move from the destemmer to the fermenting tanks by gravity alone. A long, warm maceration extracts rich flavours and colours. Juice free flows from fermenting tanks into French oak barrels.

Opus One produces only one wine, so all efforts are focused to make it the best wine possible for each vintage.

Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon; Merlot; Cabernet Franc; Malbec; Petit Verdot.

Tasting- Aromas of blackberries, leather and spice. Flavours of ripe, red fruit and herbs against rich, soft tannins. Intense flavours with long, persistent finish.
Serving- At room temperature in a large Bordeaux-style glass. Will pair well with roasted meats and rich cheeses. This is a wine that can age and improve for years.
