Rasteau Côtes du Rhône Villages Prestige

Around Vaison-la-Romaine, on the "Princes d'Orange" route is the village of Rasteau, a renowned place for wine-making. Surrounded by arid slopes, sunshine and exceptional grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre together with the characteristic stones which are heated throughout the day by the burning sun, and by night release a beneficial heat to the grapes. 700 hectares of the appellation are vinified by the Cave of Rasteau in the purest of traditions. Traditions enriched today by the most modern techniques and equipment which give Rasteau wines this rare personality and distinguish them from other Côtes du Rhône.

Age of vines is 50-60 years. Vinification is traditional, aging 10% in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Grapes: 55% Grenache; 30% Syrah; 15% Mourvedre.

Tasting- Intense, deep, velvety robe. Rich, with a spicy nose, hints of fine leather and ripe black fruits. Fine, dense, rounded and silky tannins.
Serving- Can age 5 years or more. With powerful red meats with pepper sauce, game, truffles and mushroom, terrines and fairly strongly scented cheeses. Serve at 15°-16°.
