Description
Grapes for this wine come from a careful selection in different vineyards of Tuscany, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sicily. The vines are grown on sandy and calcareous-clay soils, the vineyards are trained to the Guyot system.
The 2024 vintage started with a relatively mild and wet winter, followed by a warm spring accompanied by moderate rainfall. These conditions contributed to the development of a solid water reserve for a perfect vine growth. The summer was characterized by high daytime temperatures, but careful daily vineyard management helped to mitigate the impact of water stress, ensuring the vines remained healthy. A perfect temperature excursion between night and day, made the grapes reaching optimum levels of ripeness and health by the end of the growing season. The harvest began in the first week of September.
Vinification
A few days of cold maceration allowed a delicate pre-fermentative extraction from the skins. The grapes are fermented in temperature controlled concrete tanks at 24°C. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously.
