Beaujolais Beauties Have Arrived
June 28, 2025
Beaujolais is a French wine region known for its light, fruity red wines made primarily from the Gamay grape. It's located south of Burgundy and is famous for both its simple, easy-drinking Beaujolais Nouveau and the more complex Cru Beaujolais wines.
Situated on the slopes of the Cru of Chiroubles, home to the highest vineyards in all Beaujolais, Domaine de la Grosse Pierre enjoys stunning views of the rolling vineyard vistas of Beaujolais.
Domaine des Maisons Neuves, located in Saint-Lager in the Beaujolais region, is a family-run winery producing a range of wines, including Beaujolais-Villages and Beaujolais crus such as Brouilly, Morgon, Régnié, Chiroubles, and Moulin-à-Vent. They have a new cellar and retail outlet open to the public since 2016.

2023 Grosse Pierre 'Chiroubles Grosse Pierre'
This lovely Gamay based wine is bright ruby red in color with a nose overflowing with small, fine red fruit. Clean. Pure. Elegant and pleasantly light mouthfeel.
Soft tannins support the beautiful red and black fruit and give the wine the necessary structure. Also some herbs. The aftertaste is not too heavy. The Vines are planted on a 7.7 ha land across Morgon and Fleurie. Aged 8 months in stainless steel and concrete.
