Tuscan Mastery: Exceptional Brunello di Montalcino Selections

|
Brunello di Montalcino is a wine that is loved worldwide.
In 1980 - It was the first red wine to receive DOCG status in Italy. Made from the Sangiovese Grosso clone, Montalcino has one of the warmest and driest climates in Tuscany with the grapes in the area ripening to a week earlier than in nearby Montepulciano. This adds to the concentration and richness.
Brunello di Montalcino production is governed by strict laws requiring 100% Sangiovese grapes from the Montalcino region, specific altitudes for vineyards, mandatory aging in oak for at least two years, and a minimum total aging period before release of five years for a standard "Normale" bottling and six for a "Riserva".

2020 Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino
Campogiovanni’s vineyards are situated on the south quadrant of the Montalcino hill, where weather conditions and a particular combination of soils favor optimal ripening of the Sangiovese Grosso.
Campogiovanni is absolutely classic in style, averaging three years in Slavonian oak casks and 500-liter tonneaux, then another twelve months in the bottle. Five times award-winning wine in the TOP 100 Wine Spectator.
"Overt, smoky style, with bright red cherries, licorice and a whiff of the Mediterranean. Refined, medium- to full-bodied palate with a tight-knit structure between fruit and acidity and velvety tannins. Good, savory aftertaste. ."

2018 La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino
The Brunello by La Fiorita is the most genuine expression of Sangiovese coming from three different vineyards. The composed blends of these diverse extractions bring a delicate complexity to the harmonious wine respecting the characteristic of the vintage. Aged 2 years in large botte, then 2 more in the bottle before being released.
"This has a rich and aromatic nose of hazelnuts, poached plums, orange peel, spearmint and hot chocolate. Full-bodied, with broad and velvety tannins that spread across the palate. Rich and warm, but balanced."
