Familia Fernández Rivera’s winemaking craftsmanship stays intact in the new vintage of this excellent Crianza from the winery’s own vineyards on the banks of the Guareña River in Zamora. After ageing for 36 months in American oak barrels and refinement in the bottle—in the winery’s underground cellar dating back to the 18th century.
Vineyards are located to the southwest of the province of Zamora, on the Dehesa la Granja estate, with a surface area of 800 hectares devoted to livestock farming and different crops, of which 250 hectares are vineyards.
The wine is powerful in the mouth, flavourful, meaty and well structured. Endowed with ripe, sweet and high-quality tannins that give it breadth and volume and fill the palate. Bursting with the aromas of ripe fruit in the middle and integrated with the flavour of exquisite wood. Long persistent finish, marked by hints of liquor-infused cherries.
The perfect accompaniment to red meat, such as veal tenderloin with mustard in red wine. It also goes perfectly with feathered game dishes such as stewed squab with mushrooms and truffles or duck with blueberry sauce.
